Fans accept Liam Smith has previously pulled off the shock of the year after he took out Chris Eubank Jr in the fourth round of their fight in Manchester.
Eubank Jr was hoping to move into world title conflict with a success and entered the ring as the number one, however he was immediately carried down to earth.
Smith handled a shocking uppercut followed by a fearsome passed on snare to send Eubank Jr to the material without precedent for his expert profession. Eubank Jr rose to his feet on precarious legs, yet after one more blast of punches by Smith, the battle was waved off.

It did not take fans long to react to the action, with one supporter labelling it as a massive upset after admitting that they were rooting for Eubank Jr.
'Upset of the year, #EubankJrSmith this one hurt I just started rocking with Eubank too. Hopefully he'll activate the rematch,' they wrote on Twitter.
While that fan wouldn't mind seeing the fight again, another saw things very differently, and has called for Eubank Jr to hang up his gloves for good after his latest loss.
'Eubank should retire,' they claimed.

Another observer was also unimpressed by Eubank Jr's performance, as the Brighton boxer fell to the third defeat of his career after losing to Billy Joe Saunders in 2014 and George Groves in 2018.

Despite falling short at the elite level in the past, Eubank Jr had never been badly hurt in his previous fights, but he was finished in emphatic fashion by Smith.
Some fans appeared delighted to see the 33-year-old beaten so comprehensively as he slipped to 32-3.

Eubank Jr had set his sights on fighting Gennady Golovkin and Canelo Alvarez later this year, but his chances of fighting either man now look to have gone, with the Brit facing an uncertain future after such a damaging loss.
